So we had this hella open brief to design/re-design any album cover we liked. I decided to redo Conditions by The Temper Trap because I love their music, but wasn’t terrible fond of the cover it came out with. This is about the point where I was still happy with it, the rest of the work I did from here is rubbish.
I tried to use the word ‘Conditions’ as a inspiration to make some multi-faced being with 4 individual emotional states. I ended up being inspired/ripping off an artist called Lee Misenheimer. Had this been a real job I would of been sued by… well everyone.

One of the less inspiring projects of this semester, it actually turned out alright for the amount of time I put in to it.
The aim was to advertise Chemists’ Own: Cold and Flu tablets to male tradesmen (hence the orange vest). We had to show the contrasting state of the tradesman, transitioning from sick to healthy. It was a very strict brief.
My original idea was of a ghost-like or transparent tradesman falling from a healthy one, but options were limited with the few photos we took. As an after-thought it would also made more sense to put a construction yard behind the tradesman, but the image selection wasn’t as nice.
I study graphic design at TAFE (technical and further education). Not quite community college, but not quite university. It’s generally less respected then the university course equivalent, which is only available at private collages e.g. Billy Blue or some hybrid design course. And as much as I believed in our lecturers comptance, there was always the nagging doubt that we weren’t been taught enough. That we wouldn’t have a fighting chance against an industry of people. After visiting this site, I can safely say that at the very least we were taught everything there.

This didn’t upload properly the first time, or IE just had a personal problem with my vector illustrations. Either way it irratated me enough to go through the motions of posting it again.

I don’t know how this fits into what is suppose to be my advance photoshop class, however it will the main part of the brief. We were given free reign to create a children’s story book. My story involves a boy named Tim-Tom, and the gifts he recieved prior to his 10th birthday.
Practically Nigel Peake’s style ripoff (but no where near as good), drawn to fill a page in one of several due assignments.

Visual ID assignment: We had to design 6 seperate Apple iPhone application icons. I decided if I were to design an icon I might as well put a concept idea out there too.
From left to right: Oportos’ Online ordering service, Emergency Phonebook with emergency contact numbers from the local area, City of Sydney event Promoter/Calender, and something I need when I forget how much ink I have left in my printer: Remote checker for Printer Ink Levels app.
Messing around the idea of a logo for my tumblr. Once I’ve got it down, it’s only a step futher to animate this sucker. Lucky for me, I have a flash class in progress.
Considering of using this for my cd portfolio. As you can tell, I’m still diggin’ the minimalist look, and I have the imagination of a sloth. Of course that is under the assumption thats sloths could think fast enough to imagine, it would still be stunted by their slow (but improved) reaction speed. Thoughts, suggestions, querries, questions as to why it looks similar to something powerpoint would churn out?
